North Putnam High School 1st 83
South Putnam High School 2nd 46
Eminence High School 3rd 0

The SP girls’ T&F team faced a tough opponent on Thursday evening, coming in a distant 2nd place to North Putnam. Despite the low team score, there were still some strong performances from many individuals.

Bree Mahoney-Sutherland came away with a great performance in the Shot, winning the event and throwing just eight inches shy of beating the school record. Bree’s continued success will hopefully give her the confidence to keep chasing that record in the meets to follow. Throwing teammate Brooke Robertson continued to see improvement as well, throwing huge PRs in both the shot and discus events.

Freshman Bayli Clampitt continued to post strong performances with a win in the 400m and a split PR in the 1600m Relay. Senior Samara Young continued to show strength in racing the distance events as she won the 1600m and 3200m races.

The track teams will next be competing in a five-way meet at Clay City on Tuesday, April 16. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM.
