South Putnam girls golfers played at the Cascades in Bloomington, Indiana. We played the 9 holes that none of our athletes have played before and it cause some challenges as to strategy towards the flags. All of the girls played consistently. The tiredness of the season is finally wearing them down as they missed some key shots that they should have been able to accomplish. In a match where Edgewood did not have enough girls for a competing score, we came in 2nd place in the match behind an incredibly talented Indian Creek team.
Kate McCammack came out with our top score tonight with a 54. She managed to do well on the putting green but had trouble with some of the shots on the way to the green. Her chipping posed some problems but her tee offs were excellent.
Both Steffy girls shot 56 this match. There was a lot of exhaustion as we approach the later half of the season and there is a lot of golf going on! Both girls made excellent putts from far distances but got stuck in a number of obstacles such as bunkers and hitting trees. They did well working through their obstacles and playing that hole to the best of their ability.
The scores for the Eagles were as follows:
Kate McCammack = 54
Drew Steffy = 56
Alex Steffy = 56
Madie Newby = 60
Kortnee Starks = 61
Megan Arnold = 69
