With a game ending in rainfall, South Putnam came out on top in the season opener versus Greencastle at Oak Ridge Golf Course. After many challenges on the front 9 holes of the course, South Putnam players came out on top in the match. Junior Alex Steffy led the Lady Eagles with a score of 41 (from the 7 scored holes). Following her were Senior Leighla Hazlett, senior Kate McCammack, and junior Drew Steffy all with scores of 45 (from the 7 scored holes). Finishing up the varsity match was Freshman Madie Newby with a score of 56 (from the 7 scored holes). As well Madie Newby achieved shooting par in her first every match on hole 7. Coach Lehmann is proud of the performance of the Lady Eagles’ for their first match. She says that her athletes did an outstanding job and represented themselves and their team well in their sportsmanship and integrity.
