In their second meet of the season, South came away with a second place finish at their quad meet at Northview. Although disappointed in not coming away with an overall victory, we are happy to improve upon our fourth place finish from last year.
The Eagles did this with stellar performances from several athletes. Austin Rumley won the 800, 1600, and paced the 4×400 and 4×800 teams to a victory. Kain Gregory won the high jump, helped our 4×400 team get a win, and placed second in the competitive 200 race. Karl Egold earned first and Lucas Bach placed second in the 400 while both also contributed to their respective relay victories. Connor Hilburn placed second in discus and Trey Blaydes finished second in the long jump with a personal best.
Also, Austin Arnold (senior) made his debut in high school track where he placed third in the 300 hurdles and helped our 4×400 relay team get a victory. He is a welcome addition to the team who looks to continue in their early season success Tuesday against Cascade.
