Eagles Take on New Challenges in Track Meet with North

For the girls’ track team, this was a unique experience. For the first time in known SP T&F history, the athletes had the autonomy to decide on which events they participated in, and there were numerous surprises in choices and results. Thursday was a long day for South Putnam Eagles Varsity, falling to Covenant Christian 12-5. Eagles Varsity Out-Hits Competition, Yet Cascade Takes The Win

Even though the South Putnam baseball team collected six hits to Cascade’s five, they still fell 5-0 on Monday. A single by Aidan LeBlanc in the first inning was a positive for South Putnam Eagles Varsity. Ira Moore was the winning pitcher for Cascade. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking zero.

Lady Eagles Softball Opens Season with Win

The girls’ softball team opened the season at home last night against the visiting Covenant Christian Warriors. South came away with the win, outscoring Covenant 10-9. Drew Bratcher had a solo home run, and Grace Carr was the winning pitcher in relief of Brionna Egold who pitched well for 5 innings. Additional stats for the athletes are below:
