The Eagles rounded out the first half of their season at the Putnam County Championship this weekend, where the Eagle boys came away with a first place team finish as well as 4 new meet records and a school record. The girls’ team swam fabulously, closing the gap on a strong Greencastle team that placed first.
The Medley relay team of Cordell, Steffy, Cunningham and Harris started the meet with a new school and meet record of 1:44.14 for the event.
The same team of guys came back at the end of meet to win the 400 freestyle relay with a new meet record as well. The other two meet records both went to Evan Steffy, first in the 200 freestyle and then the 100 breaststroke, breaking his own record from the previous year in the latter.
Altogether South had 11 first place finishes, spread among 7 All-County athletes:
