Although there were no swimmers advancing to the State meet (swimmers must earn a first place finish or better the state qualifying time), the diving event works differently and Lee Haywood will make his second appearance in as many years in the diving Regional on Tuesday. Strong diving finishes by both Haywood (2nd) and David Lorimer (6th) helped the team’s overall score. The Medley and 400 Freestyle Relays (Kyle Cunningham, Zion Harris, Eric Hinkle and Evan Steffy) were impressive in both of their efforts, each placing 4th. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Lee Haywood, Michael Stewart, Daniel Johnson and Andrew Carr performed well with a season best time. Individual swimmers all had strong races on Saturday with many lifetime best times to end the season. Below is a quick recap of both days by athlete:

Marcus Robinson: 200 free (29th), 100 back (27th)

Max Dunaway: 200 free (25th, LTB), 500 free (23rd, LTB)

Andrew Carr: 200 free (15th, LTB), 500 free 14th, LTB)

Kyle Cunningham: 200IM (16th, LTB), 100 fly (21st)

Evan Steffy: 200IM (6th), 100 breaststroke (5th)

Zion Harris: 50 free (20th), 100 free (15th)

Erik Bagdasaryan: 50 free (31st, LTB)

Michael Stewart: 50 free (32nd, LTB), 500 free (28th)

Eric Hinkle: 100 fly (10th, LTB), 100 back (7th, LTB)

Lee Haywood: 100 free (18th, LTB)

David Lorimer: 100 back (22nd, LTB)

Daniel Johnson: 100 breaststroke (17th)

Brady Robinson: 100 breaststroke (28th, LTB)

Many thanks to all who supported the teams over the course of the season – bringing food, documenting our journey through photographs, timing at meets, driving athletes to early morning practices and coming out each meet to cheer on this great group of young people. We are so appreciative of the community that surrounds us. Thank you!
