Boys Varsity Tennis · Tennis Wins Again on the Road

The South Putnam varsity tennis team won last night’s match with Southmont 4-1, leaving the Eagles with a 6-0 regular season record. The JV players also bested the Mounties 5-2. Coach Briones had this to say about the match:

“One and two singles are playing really well, and made quick work of their opponents.  Two doubles started out really well, struggled in the second set and could not bounce back, but they continue to improve.  One doubles — same scenario, but with their experience, the guys pulled it together to get the win in three sets, which sealed the team win.  Three singles had a really good match; I’m proud of how he stuck it out for three sets and finished off his opponent in a tiebreak for a little icing on the cake.  JV picked up the win and continue to show signs of improvement each and every match.”
