South Putnam fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-3 loss to Owen Valley on Monday. Owen Valley scored on a home run by Jameson Norris and an error in the second inning.
The Eagles lost despite out-hitting Owen Valley 12 to nine.
South got on the board in the first inning when Devin Cashion was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Austin Hendrickson got the win for Owen Valley. He surrendered three runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out two.
Hunter Croan took the loss for the Eagles. He allowed five hits and five runs over four innings, striking out one.
South Putnam socked one home run on the day. Aidan LeBlanc went for the long ball in the sixth inning.
The Eagles racked up 12 hits in the game. Branden Demoret, Croan, LeBlanc, and Jackson Wood all had multiple hits. Demoret went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead South in hits.
Owen Valley saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Logan Headlee and Trevor David all managed multiple hits for Owen Valley.
