Varsity Baseball · Eagles Struggle To Find Groove Against Sullivan


The Eagles struggled to get their offense going on Wednesday, getting easily dispatched by Sullivan, 13-3.

Sullivan scored five runs in the sixth inning. Samuel Steimel – SR and Jack Conner – JR powered the big inning with RBIs.

Alex Cooks – JR was the winning pitcher for Sullivan. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out four and walking one. Chris Taylor – SR and Brayton Foster – SOentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Hunter Croan took the loss for South Putnam. He allowed three hits and four runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one.

Tanner PistelliBranden Demoret, and Dawson Cash all had one hit to lead South.

Sullivan had 13 hits in the game. Steimel – SRConner – JR, and Shane Garner. – SR all had multiple hits for Sullivan. Sullivan was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Garner. – SR had the most chances in the field with seven.
