South Putnam had trouble keeping up with Tri-West Hendricks in a 17-2 loss on Monday.

The Eagles opened up scoring in the first inning, scoring two runs when Dawson Cash singled.

Tri-West Hendricks pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Zach Waters singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Blake Bear doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and Derek Wagner doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Tri-West Hendricks scored eight runs in the fourth inning. Tri-West offense in the inning was led by WatersZach JeterBearWagner, and Mason Cox, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Dawson Wolfe earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Tri-West Hendricks. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four.

Branden Demoret took the loss for South Putnam. He allowed four hits and eight runs over two and a third innings, striking out two.

Tri-West Hendricks socked three home runs on the day. Wagner went yard in the fourth inning. Cox had a long ball in the fourth inning. Waters had a homer in the fourth inning.

Demoret led the Eagles with three hits in three at bats.

Tri-West Hendricks collected 14 hits on the day. WagnerWatersBear, and Carter Cooper all had multiple hits for Tri-West Hendricks. Tri-West didn’t commit a single error in the field. Wagner had the most chances in the field with five.
