The Eagles and Owen Valley passed the lead back and forth on Tuesday, but eventually Owen Valley prevailed 8-7. The game was tied at seven with Owen Valley batting in the top of the sixth when Logan Headlee reached on a dropped third strike.
Despite the loss, South did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Owen Valley had six hits on the way to victory.
The Eagles scored three runs in the third inning, driven by a single by Steven Schnepp and an error.
Heckman earned the win for Owen Valley. He pitched four and a third innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out five, and walking one. Dylan Wood took the loss for South. He threw seven innings, allowing eight runs, six hits, and striking out four.
Jackson Wood, Dylan Wood, Jon Hodge, and Schnepp each drove in one run to lead the Eagles.
