Multiple Teams · Volleyball Season in High Gear!

The South Putnam Volleyball team takes the floor this season led by 6 Senior’s and first year Head Coach Deanna Long.  After a scrimmage and 9 games, the team has already shown improvement.  The team has improved on last year’s 1-16 record by compiling 3 wins, putting them at a current record of 3-6.  The Lady Eagles are ranked 4th out of 6 teams in the West Central Conference Standings with a Conference record of 0-1 after falling to North Putnam. When asked about the season thus far, Coach Long contributes the team improvement to great Senior Leadership, along with a wonderful Assistant Coach, Managers, Parents and team buy-in to the system.  The Lady Eagles motto for the year is ACE, which is an acronym for Attitude…Communication…Effort.  Coach Long believes that if the team competes each day with a positive attitude, great communication and terrific effort that the team will see results on the court.  She also believes and teaches that these same characteristics help the Lady Eagles become successful off the court.  Showing up to school every day with a great attitude, knowing how to communicate well and positively and always giving your best effort, will make for successful individuals at home, in school and eventually in the workplace and community.  The Eagles will have three more matches this week giving them the opportunity to continue to improve on their record and their character as student athletes.
