South Blows Away Greencastle By 12 Runs

The varsity baseball team had no trouble on offense last night, winning big over Greencastle 17-5. Greencastle opened up scoring in the first inning, when Dylan Crum induced Gus Manion to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. The Eagles notched six runs in the seventh inning. Trey Long, Crum, Branden Demoret, Jackson Wood, and Hayden Switzer each had RBIs in the frame. Crum led South Putnam to victory

Boys Win Varsity Track Meet Over Clay City, Shakamak

The Eagle boys’ team took the three-way meet last night, outscoring both Clay City and Shakamak 80-77-9, respectively. The 4×400 relay continues to step up in a winner take all, final event vs. Clay City and Shakamak.  We were really impressed with how our kids competed and showed improvement.  Austin Rumley picked up two wins

Five RBI Day For Branden Demoret Seals The Deal In Victory Over Greencastle

“Branden Demoret was an RBI machine on Tuesday, driving in five on two hits to lead the Eagle’s baseball team past Greencastle 11-1. Demoret drove in runs on a home run in the fifth and a double in the sixth. South Putnam secured the victory thanks to six runs in the sixth inning. Dru Teipen, Aiden LeBlanc, and Demoret powered the big inning with RBIs.

Softball Falls to Edgewood, 3-9

The Lady Eagles fell to the Mustangs last night as Edgewood defeated South 9-3. Alex Steffy was the losing pitcher. Leighla Hazlett played a good game in Right Field. The girls’ next game is the Putnam County Tournament on Saturday at Greencastle High School.    

South Runs Past North, 63-56

The 4×400 Relay made up of Seidler, Crossman, Clearwaters, and Rumley picked up the walk off victory last night vs. North Putnam.  South had a two point lead going into the final event of an outstanding track meet. Eagles Take on New Challenges in Track Meet with North

For the girls’ track team, this was a unique experience. For the first time in known SP T&F history, the athletes had the autonomy to decide on which events they participated in, and there were numerous surprises in choices and results. Sprinters ran distance events, runners attempted to throw, and a thrower joined a relay.
